Brock Berok is a Chicago native whose passion is art. His urban contemporary art is an abstract depiction of his view of worldly concepts and life. Berok strives to create works that are relevant in today’s culture and forever evolving. Berok’s style is classic in the sense that it is timeless. The Berok…Collection is an universal experience.
At thirteen Berok discovered painting with the support of his eighth grade art teacher. By high school he had already tasted what it felt like to have his imagination appreciated on a creative level. During Berok’s early development as a painter, artist such as Romare Bearden,
Jacob Lawrence, and Alma Thomas played a distinct role in his appreciation for artistic expression. Each of these artists had an impact on Berok’s signature style. Berok also studied graphic design at Howard University, where he received a degree from the College of Arts & Sciences.
Berok has cultivated a signature brand of art through subject matter, color, and a sense of style that is not only innovative but limitless in its approach. His ability to put spectators in a dual-state of mind is the result of his unique process of recreating the stories in his mind onto a canvas. Berok sets moods and develops themes that interest the viewer while keeping each piece personal to himself as the creator.
Berok’s foundation is set in strong fundamentals and genuine imagination. He creates pieces with an explicit and direct sense of detail. His use of color, tone and line variation as visual aids is a true example of expressive fluidity.
